everything's magic.

in approximately 4.3 hours i will be boarding a bus with almost all of my dearest friends, and after getting searched for drugs, gum, and other prohibited items, we will set off for home. and by home i mean my home away from home, a land of memories, food, excitement, thrill, friendship, and joy. you might even venture to say it's a world of laughter, a world of cheer. it warms my heart thinking about it :). you see, i am what many would call a disneyland addict. i keep better track of my annual pass than i do my driver's license. it's always in my wallet so at any time i can be whisked away to the magical kingdom. i think i experience the purest joy when standing in line for space mountain with apples and peanut butter in one hand and cotton candy in the other. or just when tower of terror makes the plunge. either one is a close bet.

tonight will be a whole new d-land experience, however. one that had better be good! mostly because i'm doing the same thing in like two weeks for our church grad bash.  i'm sure it will be great though! i'm so excited!! the park is open to only high school seniors from 10 pm to 6 am. an all-nighter at disneyland? what more could i ask for!? i will surely get more sleep on the bus than i do on any given school night, so hopefully i won't be too tired. i don't know what it is about busses that knock me right out.

it wouldn't be difficult to argue that this has been one of the best school weeks of my life thus far. and i promise you it has nothing to do with anything in the classroom. it's been unbelievably fun, but i've been getting increasingly sad at the thought of saying goodbye to so many friends. i love the friends i've made at bonanza. it took me awhile to really embrace the people in my grade, but now i honestly think there's not one of them i won't miss. the other day i turned around and told one of my friends how much i'd miss this random kid in my class who i've barely ever talked to. i just like people. even if i don't really know them, people's strange little personality traits fascinate me. it makes me wish i wasn't so hopeless at striking up conversations. i curse my childhood shyness that tied my tongue.

i shall now take a moment to reflect on the fun experiences of this past week, aided visually by a few photographs. proceed if you like.

saturday was my senior prom, a grand event in any high schooler's life. it certainly lived up to the hype. it included an excellent date, brightly colored dresses, an immense amount of dancing (the obnoxious kind, my favorite), many many laughs, an INCREDIBLE prime rib dinner accompanied by such delectable items as the "southwest artichoke & crab dip" and "maryland lump crab cakes" and followed by a little something sweet called the "flaming volcano." plus there was much more dancing and laughing. did i mention the food was bomb and i've craved it every day since?
this picture is a lie. i haven't the slightest idea how to put on a boutonniere. rob brought me a bouquet of flowers when he picked me up too. what a sweetie.

clearly we are all in the mood for summer. i loved the bright dresses!

my best friends ever and three of my favorite boys. party party party!

club robo!!

aww friendship. somehow our colors always kinda look cool together. haha

me and cay-bear spent the day before decorating for the dance. note the cool butterfly hovering above our sick centerpieces. so midsummer night's dream. i wish i'd taken more pictures of the dance, it was really cool.

after salivating over the cupcake tower for the entire week before, i didn't even get to have one cause i didn't want to ruin my appetite for dinner. but we did embrace the dance floor! our group definitely got the party going.

raunch at the range with a proud range owner.

sunday, a day of rest. slept in, loved church, family dinner, j-lev's for homemade orange ice cream.

monday was our senior awards night. pretty cool minus my jello legs when walking across the stage.  i am immensely terrified of being onstage in front of a crowd of people. every time i think about speaking at graduation i get a little bit sick.

tuesday night we had our ward senior dinner in the bishop's backyard. i'm going to miss all my friends in good old monte cristo. while our parents were still standing around talking, as parents always do, we squeezed all eleven of us at one table and bonded over fajitas, fresh fruit, and funny stories.  all of our parents shared a few touching words after dinner and there was a cool slideshow. it was so enjoyable!

wednesday, bright and early, we had a senior sunrise on the football field, complete with bagels, donuts, juice, a few rollerbladers, and a tandem bike. it was "what you wore when you were '09" day, so i repped a las vegas day school shirt, because that's about how cool i was when i was nine.

after school, almost all of mr. mast's ap english students went to see star trek for extra credit. it was freakin awesome!! i'd never given star trek a thought, was always more of a star wars kind of girl, but that movie was so sick. afterwards my friends were talking about how it was "alright" and kori even said it was "kind of slow at parts" and i was becoming devastated. then up walks matt thorley and i immediately gave him a huge hug because i knew he'd be the only person who shared my appreciation. his excitement didn't disappoint! we always bond through our shared not-so-secret identities as nerds.

FURTHERMORE and finally, today was the senior assembly, our last high school assembly ever. it went well, except for a few difficulties with the screeching microphone. the slideshow that jessica did such an excellent job on (i take partial credit for the soundtrack, because it was awesome) made me a little bit sad, but it was so fun to just hang out with our friends after and take pictures. like twenty of us went to b-dubs afterwards, which was delightful as well!

p.s. aren't our shirts cool? i got one of each color cause i'm entirely indecisive.
it's strange to say, but i think i might actually really miss high school.

now i must be off. d-land, then when we return me, jess, and kori are driving down to meet my family in oceanside. i can't wait to hit up the beach!!
